Siliguri, 19th April: An attempted suicide case involving a youth has come to light at NJP station, where the young man attempted to stab himself in front of other passengers and vendors. This act caused a stir at the station, and many people were left frightened by the sight of the sharp weapon in the youth’s hand. He eventually fell on the road, in front of the station, in a blood-soaked condition.
The NJP police were immediately informed, and they reached the spot and rescued the youth, subsequently sending him to Siliguri district hospital. The young man remained unidentified at the time of reporting. Upon receiving information about the incident, RPF and GRP also reached the scene.
