Islampur, 17th July: Sensation prevailed after a youth was allegedly attacked for raising voice against theft of his crops. The incident surfaced from the Kalnagin area under Islampur police station.
Subrata Kanti Biswas, a resident of the aforementioned area, had stored maize in his land. Allegedly, one of his neighbours hijacked Biswas’ stocked maize and added it to their stock. Upon protesting, Biswas was attacked.
Following this, the injured youth was admitted to the Islampur Sub-Divisional Hospital. A written complaint has already been lodged at the Islampur police station in this regard. Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
