Kharibari, 24th March: A youth was arrested at the Bengal-Bihar border in alleged possession of a substantial quantity of narcotics. The accused has been identified as Sushant Das (33), a resident of Kesar Doba in Kharibari.
It was reported that late on Saturday night, soldiers from the 41st Battalion of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) held the youth in Bhat Gaon near the Bengal-Bihar border in Kharibari based on suspicion. During the search, the officials recovered 90 grams of brown sugar and a mobile phone from him.
Subsequently, the SSB handed over the accused to the Kharibari police. On Sunday, the accused was presented before the Siliguri Sub-divisional Court while the Kharibari police are conducting a thorough investigation into the entire incident.
