Kharibari, 06th February: Kharibari police arrested a youth with a large quantity of banned cough syrup in Singhia Jote, located on the Bengal-Bihar border. The accused, identified as Mohammad Sajjad Alam, is a resident of Kishanganj, Bihar.
As per reports, the youth arrived on a bike on Wednesday night, allegedly carrying a large quantity of banned cough syrup to deliver to someone in the Singhia Jote area. Acting on a tip-off, Kharibari police launched an operation and detained him.
During the search, 100 bottles of banned cough syrup were recovered from his possession. Following this, the accused was taken into custody.
On Thursday, the accused was produced in Siliguri Court. Meanwhile, the police have launched an investigation into the matter.
