Kharibari, 24th November: The Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) conducted another anti-drug operation, arresting a youth with 106 grams of brown sugar on the Naxalbari-Panitanki state road.
According to sources, the accused, identified as Balai Barman of Gour Singh Jote, Panitanki, was returning home late on Sunday night when SSB received a tip-off.
The team intercepted him in the Uttar Ramdhan Jote area and conducted a search, recovering 106 grams of brown sugar from his bike. The youth was then handed over to Kharibari police on charges of drug trafficking.
Balai Barman, previously arrested for drug-related offenses, was produced before the Siliguri Sub-Divisional Court on Monday. The police continue to investigate the incident.
