Kharibari, 30th January: The Darjeeling district police and SSB (Sashastra Seema Bal) have been continuously conducting operations to curb drug trafficking in the region. The arrested individual has been identified as Mukesh Roy.
On Wednesday, the 41st Battalion of SSB, stationed at the Madanjote camp, carried out an operation near the Quarter More area of Panitanki in Kharibari. During the operation, a youth was arrested with 199 grams of brown sugar.
Following the arrest, the SSB handed over the accused to the Kharibari police for further legal proceedings. Mukesh Roy was presented in the Siliguri sub-divisional court on Thursday.
