Kharibari, 24th August: SSB jawans arrested a youth during an anti-drug operation in Dilsaram Jote near the Indo-Nepal border in Panitanki, Kharibari. The accused, identified as Manoj Singha from Gandogol Jote in Kharibari, was apprehended while riding a bike.
According to police sources, personnel from the 41st Battalion of the SSB conducted the operation and intercepted the suspect. A search led to the recovery of 116 grams of brown sugar from the accused.
The SSB later handed over the suspect to Kharibari police. Initial investigations suggest that the accused was in the area to sell drugs. On Saturday, the accused was produced before the Siliguri Court.
