Kharibari, 04th October: In a significant breakthrough, the cops of Kharibari police station recovered a huge quantity of banned cough syrup and narcotic tablets. Following this, a youth, identified as Jayanta Barman, was arrested. The accused is a resident of the Gaur Singh Jote area of Panitanki in Kharibari.
According to reports, police launched an operation, based on a tip-off, and apprehended a bike rider on the basis of suspicion in the Chakkarmari area of Kharibari on the Bengal-Bihar border. Upon initiating a search, a huge quantity of banned cough syrup and narcotic tablets along with cash worth Rs 3.43 lakh were recovered from his possession. Subsequently, the accused was arrested by the police. As per police sources, the youth was previously arrested on several occasions on similar charges in Siliguri. On Wednesday, the accused was produced before the Siliguri court.
