Siliguri, 19th March: The Special Operations Group (SOG) and police of Ashighar Outpost under Bhakti Nagar Police Station, acting on a tip-off, arrested a youth with 285 grams of brown sugar. The accused has been identified as 27-year-old Chiru Barman, a resident of a Housing Colony in the Dabgram area.
As per reports, on Wednesday evening, the youth was standing in the Tharughati area under the jurisdiction of Ashighar Outpost with the intention of drug peddling.
Acting on the information, the SOG and police conducted a raid and recovered 285 grams of brown sugar from his possession, leading to his arrest.
The police have launched an investigation into the incident.
