Kharibari, 15th April: A youth was apprehended by the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) on the India-Nepal border after 205 grams of morphine were recovered from his possession. The accused has been identified as Udit Rai, a resident of Singmari, Darjeeling.
According to reports, the SSB jawans apprehended Udit while he was attempting to cross the Mechi River after purchasing the drugs from Panitanki in Kharibari. Following the arrest, Rai was handed over to the Kharibari police.
On Tuesday, the accused was presented before the Siliguri court, and the police are currently investigating the entire incident.
