Kharibari, 28th February: A youth was arrested with brown sugar before it could be smuggled. The accused, identified as Madhav Chhetri, is a resident of Gogaru Jote in Kharibari.
As per reports, acting on a tip-off, the Kharibari police station intercepted a youth on a suspicious bike at Dhakru More, near Panirtanki in Kharibari, on Thursday night. Upon conducting a search, the police recovered 103 grams of brown sugar from his possession, leading to his immediate arrest.
According to police sources, the accused had arrived to exchange drugs. He was presented before the Siliguri Sub-Divisional Court on Friday. Meanwhile, Kharibari police have launched an investigation into the entire incident.
