Siliguri, 28th April: In a recent development, the Matigara police have recovered a stolen motorbike within six days of investigation and apprehended a youth in connection to the case. The arrested accused, identified as, Deep Chhetri, is stated to be a resident of Jyoti Nagar area under Ward No. 04 of Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC).
As per details received, an individual’s motorbike was allegedly stolen from Tumba Jote area of Matigara on April 21. After the incident, the owner of the bike attempted to locate the vehicle at various places. Later, on April 22, the owner lodged a formal complaint at Matigara police station.
Based on the complaint, the undercover cops of Matigara police station initiated an investigation and arrested the accused along with the stolen bike from the Thokar area under the jurisdiction of Matigara police station on Sunday.
According to police sources, the accused Deep Chhetri was in plans to allegedly steal the motorbike and take it to Bidhannagar for sale on Sunday. On Monday, the accused has been produced before Siliguri Court. Meanwhile, the bike owner is elated to get back his stolen vehicle.
