Youth arrested for stealing money from temple donation box in Siliguri

Siliguri, 17th December: Panitanki police arrested a youth for breaking into a temple donation box and stealing cash in Siliguri. The accused has been identified as Barud.


According to reports, on Monday morning, the donation box at Shiv Mandir, located between Bidhan Market and Seth Srilal Market in Siliguri, was found broken. The temple caretaker discovered the damage while opening the temple, noting that the money donated by devotees had gone missing. A complaint was subsequently filed at the Panitanki Outpost.

During the investigation, CCTV footage revealed two youths involved in the theft, one of whom was identified as Barud. The youth was caught again on Tuesday night attempting to steal money from the same donation box in the market.


The arrested accused was produced before the Siliguri court on Wednesday. Police are continuing a detailed investigation into the incident.
