Kharibari, 01st March: A BJP Panchayat Samiti member’s son has been arrested for selling fake lottery tickets in Kharibari, triggering a stir in the Nayahat area.

As per reports, a youth named Shankar Ghosh won a lottery prize of ₹1.80 lakh and went to collect his winnings. However, when he approached the distributor along with the seller, the distributor refused to pay, claiming the lottery ticket was fake. This led to an argument, and eventually, the distributor gave Ghosh ₹50,000.

Upon receiving information about the incident, the police arrived at the scene and arrested the lottery distributor, Parimal Singha. It was later revealed that Singha is the son of BJP Panchayat Samiti member Minarani Singha.

A local Trinamool panchayat member stated that the police should thoroughly investigate the matter, as the distributor allegedly refused to pay after the winner approached him.
