Siliguri, 14th June: The Bhakti Nagar police apprehended a youth on the charge of physically assaulting a security guard of a flour mill in Salugara near Siliguri. The arrested individual has been identified as Krishnachandra Das (18), a resident of the Rathkhola area of Siliguri.
According to reports, on the previous Wednesday night, the youth was wandering near the flour mill in Salugara in an inebriated state. During this, the youth engaged in an altercation with the security guard which escalated into a physical brawl. As a result, the security guard was severely injured while the accused youth fled the scene.
Later, the security guard filed a complaint at the Bhakti Nagar police station. The law enforcement officers initiated an investigation based on the complaint and arrested Krishnachandra Das on Thursday. The arrested youth was produced before the Jalpaiguri court on Friday. Meanwhile, the police are investigating the entire incident.
