Siliguri, 05th December: The Ashighar police have arrested a youth in connection with a house burglary in Purba Vivekananda Pally, Siliguri. Stolen gold jewellery has been recovered from the accused, identified as Sanju Das, a resident of Fakdaibari area.
According to police sources, the burglary took place on 01st December when the house was left vacant. Following the incident, the homeowner, Bimal Bhawal, lodged a written complaint at Ashighar Outpost.
Based on the complaint, police launched an investigation, reviewed CCTV footage from the area, and arrested the accused the next day.
During questioning in remand, the stolen gold jewellery was recovered from Sanju Das’s residence. On Friday, the accused was produced in Jalpaiguri court.
