Phansidewa, 22nd May: The Phansidewa police have arrested a youth from the Bandarjhuli area on charges of assisting border miscreants, including involvement in cattle smuggling. The accused, Mohammad Hussain (20), is a resident of the Murikhawa area in Phansidewa block.
Police sources indicate that Hussain is not only engaged in cattle smuggling but also connected to the recent incident of setting a car on fire in Phansidewa. Additionally, he is implicated in several other criminal activities.
The arrested youth was presented before the Siliguri Divisional Court on Wednesday. The Phansidewa police have launched an investigation into the entire incident.
