Siliguri, 22nd May: A youth has been arrested by the NJP police on charges of stealing a bike. The accused has been identified as Jahidur Ali, a resident of Kamarangaguri.
According to reports, the incident took place on Tuesday night when a bike belonging to railway employee Sandeep Kumar Choudhary was stolen from Central Colony, which falls under the jurisdiction of NJP police station. Following the incident, a theft complaint was lodged at the police station on Wednesday.
Acting promptly on the complaint, the police launched an investigation and within just 12 hours apprehended Jahidur Ali along with the stolen bike from the South Colony Chhath Pukur area.
Police sources revealed that multiple cases are already registered against the accused at various police stations. On Thursday, the arrested youth was presented before the Jalpaiguri court. The police are continuing their investigation into the case.
