Siliguri, 09th February: A youth has been arrested in connection with the theft of four batteries from the generator room of the Kanchanjunga Stadium in Siliguri. The accused, identified as Ajay Barman, also known as Pushpa, is a native of Jalpaiguri but currently resides in Ward No. 01 of the Siliguri Municipal Corporation.
According to reports, the batteries were stolen from the generator room of Kanchanjunga Stadium. A written complaint was filed at the Panitanki Police Outpost on 27th January regarding the theft. Following the complaint, the police launched an investigation and arrested Ajay Barman from the Kulipara area on Saturday.
Police sources revealed that the accused has previously been arrested in connection with other theft cases. Ajay Barman was presented in the Siliguri court, and the police are continuing to investigate the matter.
