Siliguri, 12th November: The New Jalpaiguri (NJP) police station has arrested a youth, identified as Sudhir Roy, for allegedly molesting a girl in the area. Roy was taken into custody after the girl filed a written complaint.
According to reports, Sudhir Roy had been following the girl for several days and had been harassing her. On Monday night, after the girl had completed some work and was returning home, it is alleged that Roy stopped her and molested her by holding her hand.
Following the incident, the girl approached the NJP police station and lodged a formal complaint. Based on the complaint, the police launched an investigation and arrested Sudhir Roy on Monday.
On Tuesday, the accused was produced in the Siliguri court, and the police are continuing their investigation into the matter.
