Siliguri, 15th July: In a recent incident, a youth, identified as Tushar Saha (19), also known as Bikki, a resident of the Fafri area under Bhakti Nagar police station, allegedly committed suicide due to mental stress related to his girlfriend.
According to reports, Tushar’s mother left home on Monday morning to drop her younger daughter at school. Upon her return, she discovered Tushar hanging from a noose. He was immediately rushed to the nearest hospital and subsequently transferred to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH), where doctors declared him dead.
Following the incident, Tushar’s family members staged a fierce protest outside the girlfriend’s house in Bhanu Nagar area, Ward No. 43 of Siliguri Municipal Corporation. Police from Bhakti Nagar station responded to the scene and managed to control the situation.
The deceased’s family has lodged a written complaint against the girlfriend, accusing her of instigating Tushar to commit suicide. The police are currently investigating the entire matter.
