Youth accused of duping money pretending being a policeman in Siliguri taken on remand for five days 

Siliguri, 31st January: The Panitanki police Out Post arrested a youth identified as Saurabh Dey on Monday from Siliguri’s Bidhan Market for duping money pretending as a policeman. The said accused was presented in the Siliguri court, and the police have taken him on remand for five days. 


 

It is to be noted that, Saurabh Dey and one of his accomplices tricked a person in the Bidhan Market on Monday by trapping him in a drug case for Rs 50,000 pretending to be a policeman. When the person got suspicious, he gathered the people around. During this, the accused ran away with the money, but the locals caught Saurabh Dey and informed the police. 


 

On receiving the news, the police of Panitanki Out Post immediately reached the spot and arrested the youth. After which, based on the complaint, police arrested Saurabh Dey and produced him in Siliguri court today. After the hearing, the judge directed to keep the accused youth on police remand for five days.
