Rajganj, 01st March: A young woman lost her life in a tragic road accident while going out with a friend.
The deceased has been identified as Susmita Roy Chowdhury. Her friend, Suman Sarkar, sustained injuries in the incident.
Susmita, a resident of Siliguri, was travelling on a bike with Suman Sarkar on Saturday afternoon towards Gajaldoba. According to reports, near Nawapara Traffic More on the Fulbari-Gajoldoba Canal Road, a dumper allegedly hit the bike from behind, causing both riders to be thrown off.
Following the accident, Nawapara Traffic Guard police rushed the injured to a nursing home in Fulbari. Susmita succumbed to her injuries a few hours later while under treatment.
Family members rushed to the nursing home upon receiving the news and were overcome with grief.
Susmita’s body has been sent for post-mortem. Police have launched a full investigation into the accident.
