Siliguri, 20th April: A young person’s careless and risky behaviour resulted in the loss of his hand while attempting to dismount a moving train at Junction Railway Station today.
According to reports, the Radhikapur-Siliguri local DMU train was approaching the said station this afternoon when the youth attempted to get off the moving train beneath the flyover bridge. While trying to dismount, the youth fell, and one of his hands got trapped under the train wheel, resulting in its amputation.
Upon receiving the news of the accident, a team from GRP RPF arrived at the location promptly, recovered the injured youth, and transported them to Siliguri District Hospital. The identity of the youth remained unknown at the time of writing this report. The GRP team is currently working to identify the injured person.
