Kurseong, 12th June: Tragedy struck in Kurseong as a young man lost his life after being struck by a toy train. The victim, identified as Surya Rawat (18), is a resident of Dak Bungalow, Kurseong.
Reports indicate that the incident occurred around 11 a.m. on Wednesday morning when the train was reversing on the platform of Kurseong railway station. Surya Rawat was hit by the rear of the train, leading to his untimely demise.
Upon receiving the news, local authorities swiftly responded, with police arriving at the scene to recover the deceased’s body. The body was then transported to Kurseong Sub-Division Hospital for a post-mortem examination. The tragic incident has cast a pall of mourning over the area.
Authorities have initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident.
