Siliguri, 29th June: At just 23 years old, Purnima Mallik has ventured into the field of politics alongside her studies. With a strong desire to work for the welfare of the people in her village, she has become a candidate for the panchayat elections. Purnima is representing the BJP as a candidate for the Panchayat Samiti in Seat No. 33 of Fulbari Gram Panchayat-I. Balancing her studies and political aspirations, this young candidate has been tirelessly campaigning for votes alongside her father and colleagues, dedicating her days from morning to evening.
Purnima’s father, Surya Mallik, has been involved in politics for a significant period of time. Since her childhood, Purnima accompanied her father to party meetings and rallies, holding his hand. This time, the BJP has nominated her for the Panchayat Samiti candidacy, providing her with an opportunity to actively participate in politics. Purnima passionately engages in door-to-door canvassing, reaching out to the community and seeking their support.
When asked about her goals, Purnima expressed her commitment to fight against corruption in the education system on behalf of the youth if elected. Additionally, she aims to address the issues faced by marginalized individuals in society, drawing inspiration from her father’s example and guidance.
