Worms allegedly found in biryani meat again, fresh uproar in Siliguri’s Champasari More

Siliguri, 14th May: Fresh controversy erupted in Siliguri after a customer allegedly found worms in the meat of biryani purchased from a shop near Champasari More. The incident has sparked public outrage, coming just a few weeks after a similar case in Lake Town led to the closure of another biryani outlet.

According to reports, a customer who bought biryani on Wednesday noticed white worms crawling on the meat. The individual returned to the shop to raise the issue, which quickly drew the attention of locals and caused a commotion in the area.

With growing concerns over food safety, residents have demanded increased surveillance from the Food Safety Department, especially over shops selling cheap or stale biryani. Many allege that such outlets often prepare food in unhygienic conditions, raising serious public health concerns.
