Kalchini, 18th February: The Kalchini and Raimatang Tea Gardens have been closed for the past 4 months. In this regard, the tea garden workers staged a protest at the Kalchini BDO office on Tuesday and handed over a memorandum to the BDO. They alleged that no cooperation has been received from the administration yet and several workers have died due to the lack of medical treatment.
The workers stated that they only received 12 kg of rice after the garden was closed and received no further benefits.
