Siliguri, 06th March: Forest workers of the Sarugara range recovered Sal wood worth 10 lakh rupees on Saturday. Two people, identified as Manav Majumdar and Bishwajit Barman, have been arrested in connection with this incident.
Based on a tip-off, the forest workers led by Ranger Sanjay Dutta conducted an operation in the Balasan area of Matigara and seized a wood-laden vehicle. According to the forest department, the accused were smuggling the woods to Bihar. Both the accused have been produced in Siliguri court today. An investigation has initiated into the incident.
