Siliguri, 24th July: In an audacious incident of pickpocketing, a woman lost her purse comprising cash and jewellery while purchasing bus tickets at the Siliguri Junction Bus Stand.
According to reports, Papia Sarkar from Jalpaiguri arrived at Siliguri Junction from Islampur on Tuesday. After buying a ticket to return to Jalpaiguri, she realized that her purse was missing as soon as she sat on the bus. Reportedly, her purse contained a gold chain, an ATM card, and some cash.
Subsequently, the woman lodged a complaint at Pradhan Nagar Police Station. The police started an investigation based on the complaint and managed to recover the stolen purse within 3 hours from the Siliguri Junction area. After legal procedures, the police returned the woman’s lost purse, including the gold chain and cash, later on Tuesday night. Meanwhile, the woman expressed her gratitude to the police for retrieving her valuable items.
