Siliguri, 25th February: Tension ran high in the city after the body of an unidentified woman was found lying in a pool of blood on the roadside near the Siliguri Junction area.
According to sources, the locals spotted the blood-soaked body of the woman, this morning, lying on the roadside just a distance from the Junction traffic point. The police were immediately informed regarding the incident. Upon receiving the news, the Pradhan Nagar Police reached the spot and recovered the body and sent it to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital for postmortem.
Siliguri Metropolitan Police ACP West Chinmoy Mittal also reached the spot to inspect the crime scene, this morning. The ACP has, reportedly, instructed to collect CCTV footage installed in the area. While an investigation of the mysterious murder case has been initiated, the Pradhan Nagar police detained a few people for questioning.
