Kalchini, 24th March: A courageous woman tea worker fought off a leopard with her bare hands and saved her life. During her tussle with the feisty animal, she sustained injuries and is undergoing treatment at the hospital.
The incident transpired this afternoon in the Atiabari tea garden under Kalchini block. The injured woman has been identified as Baha Munda. Reportedly, this afternoon Baha Munda was working in Section No. 15 of the Atiabari tea garden. While Baha was busy with her work, a leopard appeared out of nowhere and attacked her. Standing firm, she fought the wild animal until help came to her.
Upon hearing her screams, the other workers reached the spot, and the leopard ran away. The injured worker was taken to Latabari Hospital and currently is undergoing treatment.
