Alipurduar, 12th June: In a tragic incident, a woman was fatally struck by a train in the Hamiltonganj Forward Nagar area of the Kalchini block of the Alipurduar district on Wednesday morning.
Eyewitnesses claimed that the woman died immediately after being hit by a DEMU passenger train travelling from Siliguri to Alipurduar. Locals suspected that the woman had committed suicide. Meanwhile, the identity of the deceased woman could not be ascertained.
Following this, the Hasimara RPF was informed of the incident while the entire matter is undergoing further investigation.
