Rajganj, 15th December: Three people, including a woman police personnel, were critically injured in a head-on collision between a bike and a scooty on the Belakoba-Fatapukur state highway on Monday evening.
According to sources, the accident occurred near a petrol pump on the Belakoba-Fatapukur state road. The injured woman police personnel has been identified as Aparna Roy, posted at Rajganj Police Station. She was returning home after duty when the accident took place. Two other persons travelling on the bike were also injured.
Police from Belakoba Outpost rushed to the spot after receiving information and shifted all three injured persons to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) for treatment.
Local residents Lalit Roy and Sahadeb Roy said the area has witnessed repeated accidents. They demanded the installation of barricades or speed breakers in front of the petrol pump to reduce mishaps, adding that the matter has already been conveyed to the police administration.
