Woman police officer accused of assaulting minors and being intoxicated on duty in Siliguri

Siliguri, 24th October: In a recent incident, a woman police officer has been accused of assaulting minors in Siliguri. A video showing a woman police officer assaulting a minor boy and girl has surfaced, bringing the actions of the pink mobile patrolling van, introduced by Siliguri Metropolitan Police for women’s safety, under scrutiny.

The officer is also accused of being in an inebriated state while on duty. The incident occurred in a school ground under Ward No. 46 in Siliguri on Wednesday night.

According to reports, the minors were talking when the patrolling van arrived, and the officer allegedly began beating them without asking any questions. Eyewitnesses also claim that the officer appeared intoxicated during the incident.

The situation escalated as locals, outraged by the officer’s behaviour, surrounded the van in protest. In response to the growing anger of the crowd, the pink mobile van quickly left the area.

The minors stated they were simply friends standing and talking when the officer attacked them without any inquiry. Local residents have raised questions about the officer’s actions, suggesting that the minors could have been taken to the police station for questioning instead of being physically assaulted.

The mother of one of the minors has demanded immediate action against the officer involved. Meanwhile, attempts to contact the police officer for comment have been unsuccessful so far.
