Woman mysteriously found dead inside her flat in Siliguri’s Arabinda Pally

Siliguri, 19th August: The mysterious death of a woman has shaken the Arabinda Pally neighbourhood in Siliguri, prompting suspicions of foul play among locals. The deceased woman has been identified as 51-year-old Soma Sarkar who was engaged in a boutique business. Soma Sarkar lived alone in her flat, while her daughter resided in Matigara.


The sequence of events leading to the discovery of this tragedy began when Soma’s daughter attempted to reach her by phone on Friday morning but received no response. Concerned about her mother’s well-being, she informed a neighbour about the situation. Upon investigation, the neighbour found Soma’s flat door locked from the outside. Upon gaining entry, she walked into the lifeless body of Soma Sarkar that was lying on her bed.

Following this, Soma’s daughter and associates from Matigara rushed to the scene. The Siliguri police station was alerted, and cops promptly arrived at the location. Initial assessments point towards suspicions of foul play, indicating the possibility of a murder. In a bid to gather as much evidence as possible, the police conducted videography of the incident.


The police retrieved Soma Sarkar’s body and subsequently transferred it to the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital for postmortem examination, seeking to unravel the exact cause of her tragic demise. The close-knit community of Arabinda Pally is grappling with shock and disbelief, as authorities strive to uncover the truth behind this baffling incident. As the investigation unfolds, a sense of urgency prevails to ascertain the circumstances surrounding Soma Sarkar’s untimely passing.
