Kalchini, June 27th: In a tragic incident, a local woman died in a wild elephant attack in Mechpara Tea Estate under Kalchini block. The victim, identified as Manju Oraon, had left her house on Tuesday morning when she was suddenly confronted by a wild elephant that went on a rampage, killing her on the spot.
Upon receiving the news, the forest workers and officials from the Hamiltonganj Range Forest Department, accompanied by the Kalchini police, promptly arrived at the location. They retrieved the body of the deceased and are investigating the entire incident.
