Siliguri, 26th February: A woman was injured after a private school bus allegedly lost control and rammed into roadside structures near Siliguri District Hospital on Thursday afternoon.
The incident took place near Hospital More when the bus suddenly went out of control and crashed into a roadside food stall, several parked motorcycles and an e-rickshaw. A woman who was standing nearby sustained injuries after being hit during the impact.
According to local sources, the bus driver reportedly fell ill suddenly. It is suspected that he suffered an epileptic episode, causing him to lose control of the vehicle.
The injured woman and the bus driver were immediately rescued and taken to Siliguri District Hospital for treatment.
Upon receiving information, police from Siliguri police station reached the spot and brought the situation under control. The accident-hit bus has been taken into custody, and an investigation into the incident is underway.
