Siliguri, 01st February: A woman was injured after being hit by an ambulance near the Siliguri District Hospital crossing on Saturday night. The injured woman has been identified as Manisha Singh.
According to sources, Manisha Singh was returning home with her mother after visiting a doctor when the incident occurred in front of the Siliguri District Hospital. An ambulance allegedly came from behind at high speed and hit her, causing her to be thrown onto the road.
Following the accident, locals rushed to her aid and the injured woman was immediately taken to the hospital for treatment.
It has been alleged that there was no patient inside the ambulance at the time of the incident and that overspeeding led to the accident.
Police have launched an investigation into the incident to ascertain the exact cause.
