Rajganj, 12th August: A woman was seriously injured after being hit by a four-wheeler at Bhutki Hat on the Siliguri-Jalpaiguri National Highway. The injured has been identified as Mofiza Begum (37), a resident of Akarigach village in Binnaguri under Rajganj block.
According to the locals, the woman was crossing the road on the highway after coming out of a bank located in Bhutki Hat. Then, a four-wheeler coming from Siliguri came and hit her seriously injuring the woman. After this, the locals rescued her and took her to a private hospital nearby in Fulbari. The agitated locals also took the vehicle into their custody confiscated, and seeing this as an opportunity the driver of the vehicle fled and is absconding. The police of Ambari outpost are investigating the whole matter.
