Woman files complaint alleging domestic violence and death threats by husband in Siliguri

Siliguri, 10th June: Pinky Das, a resident of Tinbatti More has accused her husband Raju Das of beating her and her children and has approached the police for her security. The man is a resident of Chaturagach in Sipai Para area. Allegedly, he engages in theft and dacoity, therefore Pinky has been living separately from her husband for many years along with their two children. A few months prior her husband took their eldest son with him and has been forcibly keeping him in the house.


The entire event took place when Pinky Das went to her husband’s house on Thursday night to meet her son. Soon after her arrival, Raju Das attacked her with sharp weapons, bricks, and rods. While trying to save herself, Pinky took shelter in a nearby house, however, Raju barged into the house and started beating her there too. Allegedly, he threatened to kill his neighbor, his wife and two children.

After the incident, when the cops of NJP police station reached the spot, the accused fled away. By the time police left, Raju Das returned and threatened to kill his neighbors.


Seeking protection and justice, Pinky Das lodged a written complaint against her husband Raju Das at the NJP police station on Friday. The police have started an investigation into the incident based on the complaint.
