Raiganj, 09th January: A woman died after being hit by a dumper truck in the Batul More area of Mahadevpur in Kaliaganj. The deceased has been identified as Urmila Rishi (20), a resident of the Bhandar area in Kaliaganj.
According to sources, the woman was crossing the State Highway on a bicycle. A dumper truck lost its control and hit her, due to which, she died on the spot.
After the incident, the local people blocked the State Highway and protested against the incident. The situation was later controlled after an intervention from the Police. The Police have seized the vehicle and have started investigating the incident.
