Naxalbari, 12th March: Police arrested a woman with 70 grams of brown sugar in Premnagar Colony, Naxalbari, on Wednesday. The accused has been identified as Swapna Begum, a resident of Khalbasti, Naxalbari.
According to sources, the police launched a raid after receiving information that the woman was attempting to deal in drugs. The seized brown sugar was recovered from her possession.
Swapna Begum is scheduled to be produced at Siliguri Sub-Divisional Court on Thursday. Meanwhile, the Naxalbari police have begun an investigation to identify others involved in the case.
