Siliguri, 02nd July: A woman and a girl were reportedly assaulted over a land dispute in Siliguri, leading to internal injuries for the woman. The incident also involved allegations of the girl’s clothes being torn.
Reportedly, the altercation occurred between two parties on Sunday in the Prakash Nagar area of Ward No. 43, under the jurisdiction of the Siliguri Municipal Corporation. The dispute was over the occupation of government PWD land.
After the incident, a written complaint was filed at the Bhakti Nagar police station, however no arrests have been made so far. The incident has raised further concerns about the safety of women in the city.
