Wildlife Trafficking Busted: 30 turtles rescued from Ambedkar Nagar Express in Alipurduar

Alipurduar, 14th September: The Railway Protection Force (RPF) successfully rescued 30 turtles from a train at Alipurduar Junction. The turtles were found packed in sacks in a sleeper coach of the UP-Ambedkar Nagar Express.


According to the RPF, the turtles were being transported from a station in Uttar Pradesh to Assam. Authorities have not yet made any arrests in connection with the incident. After the rescue, the turtles were handed over to the Buxa Forest Department.

The RPF has launched a full investigation to uncover the individuals involved in this illegal wildlife trafficking operation.
