Rajganj, 02nd July: In yet another incident of wildlife-human conflict, residents of Rajganj are gripped with panic after a wild elephant attack on Monday night. The incident surfaced from the Menghora area of the Mantadari Gram Panchayat adjacent to the Baikunthapur forest of the Rajganj block.
Local sources revealed that a herd of four wild elephants went on a rampage in the Menghora area at 3 o’clock on Monday night and severely damaged a house. In addition, the herd uprooted several trees in the area and eventually returned to the forest.
Fortunately, there was no news of causalities or injuries as a result of the incident. Meanwhile, the forest officials of Ambari Range arrived at the scene on Tuesday morning upon receiving the news.
