Alipurduar, 30th January: Elephant attacks persist in Dooars, with two houses destroyed and a youth injured in the latest incident. The attack occurred early Thursday morning in the Godown Line and Jotu Line areas of Dalsingpara Tea Estate.
As per reports, a wild elephant first targeted the house of Sameena Bibi in the Godown Line area, breaking one side wall. The collapsed wall fell on her son, Sohail Ansari, who was asleep at the time, leaving him injured.
The elephant then moved to the Jotu Line area of Dalsingpara, where it destroyed the house of Sania Kharia. Sania managed to escape with her two children, narrowly avoiding harm.
After causing destruction in the area for some time, the elephant returned to the forest.
