Phansidewa, 28th September: A newly born wild animal cub was rescued from a poultry farm in the Danagach area of Ghoshpukur Range, Phansidewa, sparking panic in the locality.
Forest personnel from Bagdogra and Ghoshpukur Range arrived at the scene and successfully rescued the cub, which have been sent to Bengal Safari for further care.
According to the forest department, it is unclear whether the cubs belong to a leopard or a cat species. Despite their black stripes, the cub is expected to develop a normal appearance as it grows older.
Bagdogra Ranger Sonam Bhutia confirmed that the cub was safely rescued and relocated. Authorities are taking precautionary measures to ensure that the mother of the cubs does not pose a threat or cause further panic in the area.
