West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee took to Twitter on Friday condoled the demise of South Indian singing icon SP Balasubrahmanyam.
“His golden voice will be remembered for generations. Condolences to his family, many admirers and colleagues in the music industry,” Banerjee tweeted.

Veteran singer SP Balasubrahmanyam passed away today afternoon at the age of 74. The Padma Shri award-winning musician was diagnosed with COVID-19 in August. Reportedly, his condition deteriorated on 23 September and he was deemed extremely critical.
