West Bengal Civil Defense Volunteers Association stage Uttar Kanya Abhiyan

Siliguri, 15th February: The members of the West Bengal Civil Defense Volunteers Association joined the Uttar Kanya Abhiyan demanding job permanency.


 

Hundreds of members from different parts of North Bengal joined the rally on Monday, which commenced from Kawakhali. However, police interrupted the rally in Noukaghat and Tinbatti More.


Following which, they staged a sit-in protest. Later, 5 representatives visited Uttar Kanya and submitted a memorandum at the CM’s office as well as the North Bengal Development Department.

State Civil Defense Chairperson Joygopal Bhowmik said that a 10-point memorandum will be issued. He warned of staging larger demonstrations if their demands are not met soon.
